MEXICAN BEER TASTING FRIDAY -- postponed until next friday, may 21
as it says, this friday we will be doing the mexican beer tasting, with NO lime. the lime ruins the taste of the beer in our opinion. we believe that if you have to add ANYTHING to a beer, it changes the taste and cancels out the true beer taste!
here are the six that we will be tasting:
tecate
corona
pacifico
modelo
sol
dos equis
we are going to return to the original tasting of pouring one beer at a time and grading/writing/savoring each beer.
if there is a different beer we should try, let us know!

DOMESTIC, MAINSTREAM LIGHT BEER RESULTS
WOW....that's about all we have to say about our results. we aren't pleased and we certainly didn't expect it to come out this way. the number in parenthesis are how the beer was ordered from 1-4, with 1 being the best.
1. COORS LIGHT (1,2,3,3) - 9 pts
2. MILLER LIGHT (1,2,2,5) - 10 pts
3. LONE STAR LIGHT (1,3,4,4) - 12 pts
4. BUD LIGHT (1,3,6,6) - 16 pts
5. MICHELOB LIGHT (2,5,5,6) - 18 pts
6. ROLLING ROCK LIGHT (4,4,5,6) - 19 pts
it's funny because we ALL have a disdain for coors light....yet somehow it came out on top. this tasting had us pouring all 6 beers at once and comparing/ordering/taking notes as we tried each one. it allowed us to go back and taste one again and again if needed.
some of the comments about the beers were:
coors light - extremely light, no real taste, smooth, and someone put "flavorful, tasty" <--- that dude's tastebuds are jacked!
miller light - good clean beer taste, "decent", regular beer
lone star light - faint, pleasant smell, tastes great, good light taste
bud lights - distinct after taste, not so good bitter taste, almost skunky, sour taste, smooth
michelob light - skunky, just regular beer, smooth good taste, tasty, complex beer
rolling rock light - "smells like it was left out in the sun", strong after taste, sour taste, bitter, darkest
this tasting was very hard. they all tasted similarly, except rolling rock. we all had that one at the bottom.
does this change how we view coors light....NOPE!!!
